1. What is Frozen Shoulder Syndrome?

Frozen Shoulder Syndrome, aka, adhesive capsulitis is a very painful and debilitating condition and includes intense pain in the involved shoulder with a significant loss of both range of motion and the ability to use the affected shoulder and arm.  Patients with this condition suffer from a serious loss of sleep due to pain and also a significant reduction of their quality of life.

2. What causes Frozen Shoulder Syndrome?

Up until now, the exact cause of Frozen Shoulder Syndrome has been unknown.  That is why it is called a “syndrome” which means a “collection of symptoms”. Reputable websites like the Mayo Clinic suggest an association between Frozen Shoulder Syndrome and a recent surgery, a past injury, recent shoulder immobilization due to an injury or surgery, thyroid problems, cardiovascular problems, Diabetes Mellitus, and Parkinson’s disease. The OTZ Method suggests an entirely different cause, see question 3 below.

3. What is the OTZ Method of treating Frozen Shoulder Syndrome?

The OTZ Method is entirely new. It has been our clinical experience that Frozen Shoulder Syndrome starts with a misalignment of the skull on the first cervical vertebra.  This misalignment put tension on Cranial Nerve 11 (The Spinal Accessory Nerve) which then interferes with the normal ability of the person to raise their arm. (Click on the “Video Animation” button for more information!)  What then follows are all the classic “collection of symptoms” that one sees in Frozen Shoulder Syndrome. By removing the interference on Cranial Nerve 11 thru a specific manipulation, the function of the shoulder is restored.  Many times the improved range of motion and decrease in pain is immediate and dramatic. You can view some of these results in the “Patient Testimonial” pages.  These patients have graciously allowed us to show their results for your education.

4. Why are there so few Doctors using this technique?

That is a great question! This is an entirely new way of analyzing and treating Frozen Shoulder Syndrome.  After years of developing this science and technique in his clinic and successfully treating hundreds of patients from around the world, Dr. Murphy is now on a mission to train willing providers around the world in what he does so that the millions of people suffering from this debilitating condition can find relief. Training seminars have begun and more and more certified providers will be showing up in the “Find a Local Provider” tab as time goes on.

5. What are the traditional treatments for Frozen Shoulder Syndrome?

An internet search of Frozen Shoulder Syndrome will elicit many thousands of “hits” on the subject which is an indication of how big this problem is. Traditional treatments include pain and anti inflammatory medications, steroidal injections, physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, and surgery.  These procedures have a very low cure rate with most patients going from one treatment type to another desperately searching for relief.  Many are forced to endure months if not years of needless suffering.  In fact, if you are reading this information you may be one of these patients.

6. How can I find relief?

That is simple! Just use the “Find a Local Provider” tab to find the nearest OTZ certified provider near you and contact their office. Getting your life back is only a mouse click away!
